I will let you know what it's like mid to end of the week. Ordering one tomorrow with a 6400. I've had enough hassle with the P5N-E. First one came and was battered to bits by the courier and the second was DOA. Was going to use a 4300 but have decided against it. Also have some nice Geil Ultra PC2-6400 cl4.
Great! Don't forget about us now. :D

hey all!
got one of these on the way so thought i best join the forum, be intersting to see how we all get on with it!?

Will definately be interested to see your results :) Especially if you have Vdroop issues.

Welcome to the forums too :)

Yep i'll be another waiting with baited breath for results as well. There's a couple of guys in the other thread waiting on deliveries of this board. So we'll hopefully get a good indication of what this board can do.

Quite interested in this board myself due to the specs, but can someone check the height of that Northbridge heatsink when they get their hands on one? It looks quite damn big from the pic and I am not sure whether the HSF I want would clear it (Noctua NH-U12F).

Cheers :)

I thought i'd bump this bad boy.

From the pic mcc49, it looks no bigger than the I/O bracket.

How tall you reckon that I/O bracket is? the clearance for the heatsink needed is around 3cm

Just heard the chipsets are red hot with just an overclock to 2.8ghz
so am forgetting this board and still await one that can overclock as well as keep cool.

Any board that uses the 650i or 680i has the same northbridge so they'll all produce lots of heat
Max temp Ive seen on the NB is roughly 120F. Its not that bad I think and thats the max volts. Looking at it now under orthos for 21 mins and its 110F or less then 50c

I have the asus 650. 1.7v on the nb, orthos on for another 10 mins now. 80mm fan full speed in front of the HS. I have a cooking thermometer wedged in the fins at the back of the HS :D and its reading 45c at present. If I touch the HS, its uncomfortably hot but no burns yet.
MB or case temp is about 40c

You might want to ask someone with a proper temp sensor setup but I reckon it'd be similar. Without the fan it'd probably not be stable and might reach 65c instead I estimate

are 650i based boards capable of reaching 420fsb with a x9 multi? or 475 x8

my cpu will do 3.8ghz but i just need a board to get me there :)

and can we make an official thread for this board, jumping between about 3 threads about the same board gets a little annoying :p
