Hey guys, I am having serious issues trying to get this to work.
I have an Abit ip35, the normal version i.e. not PRO.
Have bought 2x2gb of OCZ reaper RAM which is ddr2 1066

I can't get my computer to boot with it, I have tried the following:

Put working ram in, set timings loose, up vdimm, up mch.
Then shutdown, and put 1 stick of new ram in and try to boot.

Also tried 1 stick of new ram and a cmos reset.

neither seems to work, anything else I can do before I punch my mobo?

does it boot up to bios with any of that ram in after you reset cmos ? try

6-6-6-18- tRfc=auto if i set my tRFC to 24 mine won boot either have to set to auto
2 volts
mch 1.29

If that fails could try a bios update ?

With the new RAM, I can't even get into the BIOS to change anything.

Is it best to:
Use old RAM to change settings, then shutdown and put new RAM in?
This doesn't seem to work, so I don't know what to do.

If you turn computer off reset cmos put the new stick of ram in on its own and it does not boot could be you need a bios update.
Try what I said above use old ram put those settings in save and exit then shut down put new ram in see if it will boot.Don't leave old ram in.
Also get hwmonitor and see what voltages are going through

Tried the above, will have to try to do BIOS update.

I am at 16, and there is only 17 available, and in the chnage log it doesn't say anything about this, so will have to just try and see.

thanks for the suggestions, any more appreciated.!

Sounds like a voltage issue to me.

Set it to 2.1V with the old ram and try again

Thanks, I tried this and it with one stick I can see the first screen, but it freezes and won't go to BIOS and the other stick it does naff all. I think the sticks might be stuffed. Might have to find an OcUKer near windsor/slough generous enough to let me try it on their mobo for beer tokens.

that's probably just an error - it's the same chipset, even the lower spec. IP35P & IP35V support 1066 memory.
