Anyone have any tips or experience with this error code?

It locks on 8.7. the instant I press the power button, all fans running.

1 stick memory, cpu, GFX card, h/d only connected.

Its driving me mad! :mad::confused:

(Abit IP35 Pro, Q6600, 1gig Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500, Nvidia 8800GTS (G92), Tagan BZ 900w, Seagate 250gig H/D)

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

To be honest I've found the IP35 Pro abit unreliable (pun intended) , I've had to RMA two of them:-

1. LAN ports didn't work
2. Wouldn't recognise any IDE DVD/CD drives

Hi guys,

Sorry for late reply, I butchered my old pc to try other parts late last night and it still didnt work, so I just watched some TV and went to bed as I was getting too annoyed!

Have reset CMOS with and without removing battery, tried another GFX card & other memory, and this morning have tried the board out of the case and its still the same, 8.7.!

abit online help suggests making sure the 4-8 12v plug is in place and if it is then to replace the PSU? anyone think thats what it could be, the PSU?

@ Smirnoff, the cpu is in place, is there a chance the cpu is dead? is a totally brand new Q6600 Quad!

Should I buy another PSU and return this one?

Thanks for all your help so far :)

What HSF are you using, stupid suggestion but have you tried loosening it a bit if it's one of these screw down types?

I am using a Thermalright Ultima 90 with a 120mm Noctua fan.

I tried loosening the screws alittle but no difference.

Not sure what to think, some are saying its likely a faulty PSU, others are saying mobo?

That's unlucky. I've built perhaps a couple hundred systems with this board and I don't think any have failed to work.

Just tried my current PSU from my old Dell Pc and it does the same thing so I am assuming its the mobo.

Also just had the Tagan PSU tested at a local PC shop and he seems to think the PSU is all ok.

@ Dr.Sarf, How do you rate the Asus PK5 Premium 'black pearl' against the IP35 Pro? Is it worth me changing mobo?
