Hey everyone, i was wondering if you could help me with 2 problems i faced since installing my Abit board.

Frist one is: When i boot up Vista the bios checks and everything are fine and when i get to the windows loading bar i have to wait about 2-3minutes till i get the Vista orb and can login. I have flashed the bios and formatted and it has done nothing...

Second: When ever i try to overclock i put in the values, save and exit. But when i get to windows and check via CPU-Z my cpu is running stock and if i reset my pc and go back in the bios there stock there aswell. I'm running 2gig OCZ platinum ram, Q6600 and the IP35 Pro.

I would really apreachate any help as even my local PC shop can't figure out what the problem is.

Cheers guys.

drive configuration?

what sort of figures are you putting in?
the mobo will default to stock if it can't boot at the values that you have input.

What do you mean by drive configuration?
I mean how many drives, which type & attached to which controller.

And the values are really low like putting my CPU to 2.7 and stuff.
Have you set the RAM voltage to the mfr's recommended value rather than the JEDEC 1.8V that the mobo may well be setting?

Hard drives i have 2x Seagates, attatched to Sata 1 & Sata 3 ports.

Might take a few minutes, but drop to BIOS and make a note of the FSB and voltages for the CPU and memory and post them here along with what you are trying to change them to. Also, obvious but just to make sure, you are clicking Save and Exit in the BIOS rather than just esc-ing out?

which exact OCZ Platinum is it?
if it's the original 6400 it's 2.1V & the Rev. 2 is 1.9-2.1V.

it's certainly a possibility for the failed overclocking.

that says rev 2 so it's 1.9-2.1V - I would initially err on the high side & once it's running as it should you can see if you can drop it.
