Hi all,

Ive just installed the Abit ip35 pro xe wih my E8500, i did have a problem with the wrong clock speeds showing but updating the bios to v11 has fixed that.
Also with the CPU im using there seems to be a problem with the bios showing incorrect temp, but "trueTemp" says its running at normal temp this i can live with until a fix or new bios is available, my main problem is whenever i reboot or boot from cold i get a post code saying C1 and the pc hangs but if i reset the CMOS it boots up ok.

Ihave 4gig of ocz pc2-6400.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong im not to hot on setting bios do i have to set anything there?

Thanks

check that the RAM voltage set in the BIOS is that recommended by OCZ for that RAM.
also, if it's 4x 1Gb DIMMs you may have to increase Vmch slightly.

How do i find out what ram voltage should be, it is 4x 1gb but i havnr got a clue what vmch is, sorry to come across as dumb but im not very good with bios settings

hi, sorry to butt in, but i have the same RAM! and was woudering what happens if you do not set the voltage to the one stated on the RAM! for example my mobo RAM default is 1.80 however the RAM says 2.1v! can it casuse damage? and also can it cause damage to the mobo increaseing the voltage!

Ok after googling it ive i have found the ram voltage should be set to 2.1v and the Vmch to 1.41 after doing this my problem has stopped, the pc boots up clean and fast.

Thanks to all who helped.

The RAM needs 2.1v, and you can set the vMCH to about 0.1v above the lowest setting.

Also set the DDR2 Ref Voltage option to its max (+2% I think) when running 4 sticks.
