It’s a 07 edition Yamaha YZF-R1, not registered yet, so will be a 58 reg when that’s done – got it for £7,200 OTR, which I’m pleased about, as it’s not as near to 10k as the Ducati 848 I was looking at buying earlier in the day :D

I’ll be changing the god awful screen straight away, as it looks odd, plus adding crash bungs, a tail tidy and seat cowl – debating whether it’s worth having an alarm, if I get one fitted, it’ll be for insurance purposes; failing an alarm though, some secure markings maybe.

This is my second bike, the first – an 06 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636, was written off when a driver decided the highway code didn’t apply to them on a roundabout :(

Chuffed!

Scort.

Cheers guys :)

Yep, it's already occurred to me – plated wrist, litre bike and upcoming rubbish weather…. I'll be riding as if I were on my test :D

Scort.

I can't fit on it. I look like an ape trying to ride a 3 year old's bicycle :( However they are awesome bikes  Enjoy it mate! :D

Same :( The front end of my mates felt non existant with me on, Full on wheely machine though

Nice bike mate, Stay up the right way ;)

Nice one Bud.

I'd Get the Crash bungs and security marking. forget the Alarm unless the saving on insurance covers the cost of the alarm. fit a Alarm in your Garage instead.
I hate alarms they always seem to go wrong leaving you stranded with a dead bike.

Thanks :)

The sales guy I was speaking to said he never bothers with alarms, and tells customers the same; said pretty much the same as you really.

Scort

Got confirmation that the bike was registered today, picking it up a week today :D Didn’t expect it to take this long though :(

Scort.

We Will have to sort out an ocuk Bike meet sometime next year if its sunny :D
That or all go along to the same trackday somewhere, got at least 6 planned for next year :p

Yeah, would be nice for a meet, certainly up for that :)

Blimey, 6  I've not even done Bikesafe yet! I expect lots of pics of the 750 being caned then :D

Scort.

Very nice, rode the R6 and the only thing I didn't like about that was a lack of grunt lower down in the rev range, got the Daytona 675 in the end, but the R1 should fix that and then some :D

ocuk bike meet would be good, seems to be a fair few of us dotted around now, or trackday, I'm planning to start racing bikes next year in the Formula 400 class so I'm going to start doing lots of track days at various places over the year :)

enjoy mate :D

Picked up my 08 'blade earlier this year - awesome machine :D

Werent you tempted to wait for the new one tho in the new year? big bang engine 'n' all?

Of course ;) got 3 definate so far, Anglesey in April, Rockingham in august and Cadwell in October
The other 3 that I Will do next year: Donny again before it changes, Anglesey later in the year again lol love that track and Brands, but if I can get myself a van sorted will do as many as I can afford :p if the TD's go well will see if I can get my ACU license and start a few small series races to see how I do :D

Have you tried the gsxr 750? if so how does it compare to the 675 Daytona? really need to have a go on one next year as if I like it tempted to get one for racing as you can enter them into sooo many races lol.

Good Luck with the Formula 400! what club is it with?
