About time we had nvidia and amd subforums?

What puzzles me is the guys who get all personal and insulting. I will argue all day and night if I believe I am right but if I am wrong, I put my hand up. I had people on my friends list who I disagreed with and they then removed me. But that is no different to me going out with my mates and arguing football/women/politics/anything. We don't get all huffy and spit our dummies out, we have more beer and crack on.

Far to many people you have to wrap in cotton wool here or the ones who are just plain rude. I say leave it as it is but chill out guys (you know who you are) and remember we are all gamers at heart and no point getting upset over a bloody GPU.

Peace out brothers

Roughly how long would you say it has been like that?

Varies a bit but as long as I've been on these forums the majority of the time its been AMD bias, not that it really matters I don't have a problem with anyone sticking up for AMD or even nVidia for that matter.

Am I wrong?

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot theres only nVidia fanboys and people who "don't have any attachment to AMD just don't like nVidia".

This is a pointless debate. You don't half talk some rubbish. Stop trying to shift the blame to one side or the other.

Too many smart asses here... (Unnamed, but you know who you are)

but the one thing I do like about coming here is...a lot of you guys know your stuff and if I have a issue and don't understand why something is happening, I know someone here will help me out and know the answer.

That's what makes this place special ;)

OMG tommy that works beautifully. Thank you, thank you, thank you kind sir:D

:D

When mates call the other one a liar in front of his other mates in a pub, then gets sleekit as hell too, you can expect open air public boxing in Scottish pubs.:p

True lol.

There might be more people defending amd on here which does not mean fanboy though. The amount of junk i see constantly banded about i.e. amd drivers suck and nvidia's are rock solid, 3d is no good on amd cards and there's more, leads to people trying to put thing's straight. Nvidia don't have much of this kind of chat because most believe they are perfect.

In an ideal world both camps would stick to their own section however, I think we all agree there would be the same, if not more flame baiting than there is now.

Never gonna happen I'm afraid.

Much longer suspensions for persistent offenders please.

It is a very good idea and would hopefully lead to a reduction in fanboyism or triumphalism anytime either the red or green side released a new, faster product. Although I'm sure that would still happen to an extent, it would possibly be cut down.

I know personally, I would still from time to time pop in to the Nvidia forum, as I do like to keep abreast of the latest technologies, but in the main being an AMD user I would spend my time in AMD forums reading about developments and hopefully being able to offer advice to anyone based on my previous experience - as well as draw upon the experience of other AMD users if/ when required.

Sub-forums would get my vote.

Maybe that is the problem. I would call my mates a liar and get called the same back but it doesn't end in a punch up. For sure it can get heated but never even close to kicking the crap out of each other. At the end of it, we are all good mates and have been for years on the football pitch, at cricket, playing golf and work. When you speak face to face, you get a true reflection of what is being said and as you are well aware, people read things that are said wrong. Oh and for the record, I said "Stop giving misinformation", that is slightly different to calling you a liar and I will argue that case still :p

VRAM has a lot to answer for :D

Half the problem that in general, people don't like to admit they're wrong even when loads of people are telling them they're wrong and twist and turn repeatedly to try and say "ah so I was right all along" which naturally just attracts scorn.

Generally, the standard of debate here in this sub forum is actually pretty poor, and people get jumped on for neatly fitting into either sides fanboy camp when in fact they're just arguing a viewpoint which inconveniences somebody. I do think that a lot of people don't understand that somebody could possibly be neutral... and to try and have a debate with them they have to put them into either a nVidia or AMD box which really does essentially show a lack of intelligence (which is funny given some of the subjects being argued).

There was a refreshing exchange regarding VRAM on Max Payne the other month where at the end there was admittance of being wrong and thankful for being given info on the subject. I think back to something similar a few months further back and other instances in general and adoption of bunker position was assumed and thread after thread gets locked.

Could it be avoided? Only by constant post deletion and suspension but that requires the input of somebody else whose time is going to be wasted so I don't think you can really ask for more.
