About to buy a SD37P2

The 7900 MSI GTO will fit....just. You'll know what I mean when you put it together there is about 5mm spare but it will fit if its the MSI card. Just built one with one of these and it is seriously quiet as well. Next to my SB75 you didn't even know it was on

Those MSI cards are really quiet and a perfect match for this shuttle.

Yeh i was a bit concerned when i put it in that it wasnt going to fit, works a treat.

Ive done a 17.25sec 1mb super pi with the 6600 @ 3ghz - its a extremely good little machine, i was astounded by how quiet it is, compared to every other shuttle ive owned.

The only thing its missing is onboard wireless, so i had to buy a usb wireless key, no big shakes, but onboard would have been neater :)

I cant get by the 321 mhz wall atm :(, are you using 023 bios or 024 ?, and how many volts please ?

hi
just wondering how you guys overclocked your sd37p2 by so much cos it said in the review they only clock to 321ish before it flakes out?
Any information would be great cos id like to see how far i can push mine

many thanks

i haven't clocked mine at all...am i going to notice much difference??

got an E6600 processer and 2Gb of 5300 memory IIRC

everything seems to zip along quite nicely without me meddling at the moment.

wrong question for a overclocking forum methinks :)

I too was in same position this morning, couldn't get over 321, read about the sata controller crapping out on the sd37p2 review then asked Inwardsinging [long standing friend & member].

A quick download and familiarisation with "Clockgen" available from cpuid.com did the buisness.

Just remember you have to set your voltages in bios, and do not set it higher than 320 [I set mine to 300 and +0.15v], this saw me get to 360 via clockgen in windows and a superpi 1 meg of 16 sec :)

I know my chip will go higher as I previously had it in an Asus P5wDH Deluxe

I keep mine at 2.9 now - when i was benchmarking i got pretty stable (did a 30 sec super pi) at 355 and it was okay with + .25 in the voltage of cpu.

I cant say enough how impressed i am with the whole thing, I think partially because i have came from a dell 640m laptop, and not having had any core2duo's before, but just the overall looks of the machine, the noise level, the quietest shuttle ive ever had (even including the zen), and with a 7900GTO, i get 44,000 in 3dmark 01, just under 24k in 03.

I can play all my games at 1920x1080 on my lcd and nothing has skipped a beat yet.

Obviously if your an insane overclocker, then your not going to be pulling out amazing overclocks, but an 800mhz overclock in a shuttle is pretty good to me, especially without having the fans off ultra low.
