Hello,
as the title says im about to place my order for 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM hdd's, my question is how reliable are they becouse i'm plannign to use them in RAID 0 mode.
I dont care about noise only about reliability and speed.
Anyone had any bad experiences with them or are they working 100%?
Also what will the performance be compared to my wd caviar ata-100 250 gb?

Thanks in advance

So far mine has been excellent! Good performance increase (that i've noticed personally over my old ata setup). :)

I don't RAID my drives so can't help with reliability but they can't be anyworse than other makes, besides, they do have a 5yr Warranty.

True about warranty, but if one dies, i lose data on both hdd's, so cant affort any errors on either hdd's...
Btw i wont be replacing my old hdd's, but i just want to know how much difference there would be performance wise if i'd config my new hdd's for swapfile, big games like bf2, etc...

I could offcourse just buy one 300 gb seagate and raid it with my maxtor 300gb, but then again my maxtor is dieing i think and if it dies itll take all the data on the seagate with it, just dont trust it, also had bad experiences in past with seagates, 2 of 3 i ever owned in my personal pc died, so i just want to be 100% sure they're ok now, as a lot of ppl recommend seagates these days...

I've never actually owned a seagate drive before this one, but i'd say you'd be safer with the two new ones in RAID rather than the Seagate and the Maxtor, especially if you think it dieing. :p

Truth, never trust a Maxtor ;)
