so, finally got all (our at least the important parts) for my build but just a quick question.

I've sort of come up with the below plan - can anyone spot anything glaringly wrong with it.

the case is an InWin 303, the rad is at the top with 3 x 120mm fans drawing the air back out of the case over the rad. can't be the other way as the psu is behind that! for a drain i'm just going to have a 'Y' Valve on the outflow of the pump with a short bit of tubing and an ek ball valve at the end.

does this all sound and look ok? or am I likely to set the house on fire and or blow myself up!? :p

Cheers mate. Just wanted someone with a but more knowhow than me to cast their eye over it for me.
Is the water flow ok, i.e. from pump/res to cpu then onto the rad? Wasn't sure if it be better pump/res to rad to cpu.

Whichever way works better when routing the tubing.

Either way will perform the same.

another question.......

best way to rinse out a rad? I've read you should always rinse it out well before first use to remove flux etc. is boiling water ok or should I be getting some of that nuke stuff? if boiling water suffices, does it need to be distilled?

boiling water is fine, just use distilled for the last rinse. Fill her up and shake for a couple min then drai nand repeat. To be honest when i rinsed out my magic cool 140mm hardly anything came out and has been fine for 5 months.

Cool. Cheers.

Exactly what i do

on first soak of a new radiator I add some distilled vinegar to the water. and after adding boiling water be careful it gets hot

anyone happen to know if ek do an equivalent to this

xpsc male to male conntector need one to connect to the ball valve i'll be using as a drain, don't have enough room to connect the 2 via a piece of tubing.

as all the other connectors are ek the ocd in me tells me it needs to ek and not xspx - though if ek don't do one am I right in saying as they are all g1/4 connections this will do anyway?

The XSPC one will be fine as it's G1/4.

But,

If you are connecting direct to a T-piece/block i recommend you use a rotary/adjustable one - that way when it is tightened your tap doesn't end up facing in an awkward direction.

Yea sorry should have been a bit more explanative (is that a word?!)
I have a y valve on the out flow, 1 x 90 degree piece going off to the cpu then on the other side of the y valve a 45 degree piece to connect the ball stop to. But using tubing between the y valve and ball stop doesn't give me room to 'twist' the ball stop out of the case, the case lip will catch and stop it, if you know what I mean.

Just found the EK equivalent on their website but not stocked by OcUK. So I guess I'll just have to go with the XSPC one (damn OCD will be the death of me!) Though I can take some solace in the fact both brands look identical!

Edit: cheers for taking the time to reply. :)

jesus h Christ I didn't realise how fekking awkward hardline tubing was going to be.........near 4 hrs to install 3 fans the cpu block and bend and fit 1 piece of tubing - not perfectly mind you but it'll have to fekking do!
