I rest my case. All Irish people make fortresses from bed linen when drunk.

All students are lazy, alcoholic bums. FACT.

I was just about to mount one hell of a post contending what you just said and defending us students from this outrageous claim.

I then realised that all my student mates fit that bill, and that you are probably right. :p

Judging by where he lives it's pretty likely they were students guys. It's bad enough his garden's been trashed, being slagged off on here for supposedly stereotyping students isn't helping :) Besides, I'm a student and I'm not offended, as I know that a lot of us DO act like retards, there's no need to take it personally if you don't.

Sorry to hear what happened Singist, I'd say I hope you catch them but unless you have CCTV in your development I doubt you will... :(

These guys sucked :(. But a lot of students aren't like that :). However, all Irish people ARE terrorists. IT'S IN THE MANUAL PEOPLEEE

I suspect it depends on the Uni.

The new University of Mid-west Essex incorporating Billericay (formerly known as Basildon Basket-weaving college) is liable to vomit all kinds of odious delinquents onto the streets, whereas Caius College Cambridge is not (which vomits odious delinquents into parliament instead).

Can't believe they smashed the bird bath. I'm my student days I would have nicked it.

I mean, look at the cred. A temporary traffic light, traffic cone or for sale sign - 1 point.

Bird bath??? AT least 5 points AND it would have made a great ash tray.

Students these days

A mate of mine found his very heavy stone bird bath through his double glazed front door at 2 am in the morning.
He believed the culprit was his next door neighbour whose wife he'd been scuttling and because of his weight training it could only be him who could pick it up.

To be fair the majority of students I met are the complete opposite, highly intelligent, and wouldn't ever think of vandalising something.

Well I haven't met many people from my course yet, just people on nights out :p

I hope you're right :)

another good reason i made sure i never lived in headingly - i work at leeds uni and while some are ok there are a hell of a lot of tossers there.

Yup ifd the op lives in headingley its a 99.9% chance it was students.

Also, is there not a retirement home next to woodies ? ( think there are more too )

Maybe im going to the wrong universities?

Other than the odd first year drop out (who by definition was only there for one year) I met very few people that would knowingly vandalise others property.

in fact i seem to recall the majority of my fellow students being very curteous people who would never dream of destroying others things.

You should contact the university if your positive they were students and you can identify them, that sort of behaviour, if proven, would likely get them kicked off their course.

Very unlikely they were universitie students.

Its always the same, the odd group of students do something bad and then people tend to sterotype the rest of the students that are alive on this planet as bad as well.:(

Ok guys; please accept my apologies if you are a student and act in a reasonable manner. (though you must be extremely lonely ;) )

I am not about to post my address on here but I live in a road that leads to large student halls and there are many large houses that are also multiple student lets too so I would bet big bucks that they were students.

Regarding Headingley in general; one only has too observe the hundreds (literally) of semi drunken students doing the Otley Run in silly or almost non existant clothes  on ANY night to see how the cream of our education system act.

After the booze, it's time for lots of screaming, LOUD music and ******* huge air bomb type fireworks from midnight until 4-30am, when they might decide to play football in the Street (fireworks will continue on and off until Feb' time)

So you will appreciate that many local people, who have endured this sort of thoughtless **** for years, tend to get just an ickle bit ****** off when it's mindless high jinks (vandalism) on their property.

As I said last night, I'm not too fussed; I'd go and tackle 'em together with my dog (hates fireworks) but some of the little old ladies get quite frightened by things like this. The vandals also smashed the window of the shed and slung a two seater bench into the flower beds (two man job).

They had to come off the road, through our car park (in all, 30metres) and go through a gate to get into the back garden so this wasn't just a running through someones front garden type jaunt.

If you are a student, by all means have a good time and enjoy yourself; ;) just try to be a fraction more thoughtful to the people who have to put up with poor behaviour week after week.

Thanksfor all the good wishes.
