Absorbing games

Fahrenheit, Final Fantasy 7 and Knights of The Old Republic spring to mind instantly.
Very absorbing stories and kept me entertained for a long time :)
Only problem is I think Fahrenheit is a bit of a one off game, it's not quite as entertaining the second time round, while I would say the other two you can replay many times and still enjoy.
 
Short term, I'd have to say Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate 2, Thief 2, Half Life 2.

Long term, EVE Online. I've been playing it for 3 years and still learning about it and having fun :) It has a very active, always growing community and incredible depth.

Amazing game, simply amazing. Infact I think I shall play that right now as I never did finish it.
 
I think KOTOR is fantastic, I am playing it again trying to play it as the Dark Side, but I feel like a tit every time I choose the bad option. :-/
