Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010, Yas Island Marina Circuit - Race 19/19

Its a bit dificult to tell how big a thing the internet

Arguably, the most important invention of the 20th century.

But yes, the availability of information (in 2010), certainly ensures that every little detail/incident is placed under the microscope - something that would not have happened 10-20 years ago.

Smashing people off the road, so they don't beat you is childish and smacks of sore loser syndrome. Senna or not.

In my eyes they should be stripped of points for doing that (if found to be premeditated). Never understood how they got away with it back in the day

I know about the Ferrari/Mclaren/Red Bull blown diffusers, but I could have sworn I read an article on F1Fanatic about the Renault engines having a piece of software that gave them the edge at slower speeds.. And that Whitmarsh appealed it (surprise surprise), probably one in the same now, but I'll see if I can find it :)

EDIT: http://scarbsf1.wordpress.com/2010/07/10/red-bull-map-q-the-secret-to-the-teams-q3-pace/

yup, exactly what I'm talking about. All they did was tune the SECU maps to give that effect. Same ability is available to everyone, just need to get your engine supplier to map the engine appropriately, assuming you don't overheat it :D

I mention this to my wife who was watching the race with. That Webber was no where when the celebrations took off ! !

I would have thought that Webber would be pretty emotionally destroyed just after losing the title, the last thing he needed was for that to be played out in millions of homes accross the world.

I think so, he obviously hates Vettel (and RB) and this was propably his last chance to win the WC.

And maybe he feels like RB pitted him on purpose to hold him back.

double bluff from RB's point of view to pull Alonso out of position also - possible.....although I think I recall Brundle commenting at the time of the pitstops that the stategy could have worked (at least for Alonso, not sure about MW)

I am still not convinced it was a bluff. The tires were going off and they had no idea they were going to come back to them. The leaders had to take a chance, plus, Alonso at the time was racing Webber, not Vettel. Ferrari had to cover Webber.
