Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2013, Yas Marina - Race 17/19

Why didn't he do that the first time?

I'm getting pretty tired of watching him go backwards every race.

What had changed since he won that race before the end of the first half of the season?

Vettel got held back by button for miles, nothing else really. On top of being out front in fresh air which gives a HUGE advantage, monumental advantage. Being out front I think means basically giving you 1+ second a lap advantage for same tyre life, or more tyre life, and depending on the track, both.

Pirelli changed the tyres after they blew up at Silverstone.

Since then he's won every race bar Hungary and not won close races either, he's dominating them now, before the tyre change it was all a lot closer.

sutil hasnt given the places back..crazyy

Thing is he was ahead of Perez in the first place and came back on ahead of Perez, but Maldonado went off as well.

Thing is Maldonado like he did to Hamilton was it last year or the one before, he went off and decided to come back on at the freaking apex of the next turn, he was inches away from ruining Perez's race with a ridiculous attempt to rejoin the track at a ridiculously dangerous position.

Sutil went off and sensibly came back on after those two corners and on the right hand side. Why is it Maldonado thinks rejoining the track mid apex of a turn is a smart idea. I don't think you ever see any other driver do that, no one would choose it not least because it would be much faster going straight across and on to the straight.

It doesn't explain Hamilton's lack of pace in the second half of the season. He just seems to have dropped off a bit.

So have Ferrari compromised Mass's race by pitting him and putting Alonso ahead. His times seems pretty decent but was being caught up by Alonso fairly quickly?

For some reason the Merc is now slow in a straight line. This all started at Spa

Bottas sitting nicely in P10. Hoping he doesn't have to pit again, but I doubt he'll be able to manage it. It would certainly be nice to see him get his first point in F1.
