The annoying thing is that it's so close to being a half decent track. Three corner changes (one of which is an actual configuration) and it'd be really quite good.

A great idea but safety would be play a major factor. The speed that the cars arrive at turn 7 without the chicane, and with limited gaps for run off - unlikely to happen. The main straight whilst reminiscent of the original Imola - Would be great but I cannot see it ever happen. I wish they would remove the off camber 'error generating' curves - Adds nothing to the show and drivers hate them.

Great races.
Only I'm sure because I'm a Renault fan and it was pretty tense knowing the reliability!

I voted 8 by the way

Terrible race. I actually only caught most of it by chance as we were out and about (and it was on in the Smoke Haus) and I was still bored with what I saw... I’m sure the bit I watched didn’t even have a single overtake either. Shocking :(

Watched the first 30 laps of nothing happening. Skipped forward and saw it didn't change from then on. What a load of rubbish, glad I didn't bother watching it in full!

After listening to the race on Radio 5Live, I will never again complain about the commentary on C4 or Sky F1.

The amount of **** they were chatting was ridiculous.

The race was terribly dull, but I was happy Valtteri got the win. Hoping next year Red Bull has the car they need, will be great to see Max and Daniel in the mix.

I was against Abu Dhabi opening the season as it's dull, and I'm just as against it closing the season.

Australia opener and Brazil closer was great, both party places... Brazil especially.

Even MB is in same boat:

Martin Brundle‏ @MBrundleF1

Apologies for the Formula One race today, it was rubbish. Like a nil nil football score, not a whole lot happened. Overall a pretty good season though, but we can do much better. Thanks for you company and opinions in 2017. Onward and upwards I hope, never waste a heartbeat. MB

They can overtake with the layout as it is. The problem is the cars themselves and the fact that they cannot follow closely.

Whilst I don't disagree that the cars are a problem, at every other track this year there has been a reasonable amount of overtakes - this circuit compounds the problem.

I agree the cars don't help, but can you think of a single race in AD which was exciting? Or even had overtaking.

Of the 'famous' races here, they're only remembered because no one could overtake - Alonso/Webber/Petrov in 2010 and the Hamilton train last year.

I miss the days when brundle was actually allowed to say how boring the races were during the Ferrari dominant era. Of course Bernie soon cracked down on that and everything was wonderful and bigged up. They still do it.

I don't think they had much choice given standard of the race. :P

To be fair, 5 Live used to be good when Crofty was the commentator. Since he left they've been terrible, and he's been terrible on Sky. Quite an achievement really.

Now 5 Live F1 is basically the Hamilton show and commentating as if every listener has never seen a race. I appreciate the need to explain motorsport-specific terms occasionally, but their whole coverage is like that now. Nothing like their football coverage, which I think is frankly brilliant.

I totally forgot about the warm up lap until I saw the video circulating around. Clip of the year. Everyone weaving to warm up, kimi driving in a straight line doing his own thing. Classic kimi.

Just seen that. Also just seen Alonso doing donuts at the end then saying "Just done some donuts practice for next year." Love it.

Hi all I actually went to Abu Dhabi for the race and really enjoyed it. I didn't like how you were not allowed to visit and sit anywhere in the track during Fri practise as you can in other circuits. Found that weird
