Access denied over network

Hi guys, basically before i formatted my PC i transferred a load of files to my dads PC. Originally i couldnt get on his PC from mine to dump the files so i had to use his pc to take the files off mine to back them up.

Now if i access his PC i get access denied and if he accesses mine i get access denied. Ive enabled the folder on the properties as shared and editable so for what it looks to me i shoudl be able to access it. Ive disabled all software routers and the 2 PCs are connected via a router.

Any advice on how i can get my files back?

Are you using an account with the same username and password on both PCs?

Managed to get it sorted, refound the file locations and its worked alright now.
