Hi, i have a acer laptop that did have vista on, i have upgraded this recently to windows 7, i have just today bought a new webcam which it says is windows 7 ready plus there are no drivers needed, i can just plug it in and it will work.

sounds nice and easy =]

well, i have plugged it in and it seems to be installing, finds the driver etc, then it says cannot install, then when i go into the device manager and click into the device it sayd access denied, i have tried alsorts to fix it, turned uac off etc and still does same thing, tried in safe mode, i just cannot do it.

has anyone got any idea please, id be very greatful

thanks

He's tried UAC I believe...

Try this, I doubt it will work but I guess it's worth trying:

Restart your PC and just after your BIOS menu disappears press F8 and you should get a boot menu, choose the option to disable driver signing then try installing it.

Like I said, doesn't sound linked but worth a try I guess.
