access denied

Hi i receive the error message access denied when using Computer Management to manage a client from with in windows 2003 but i can manage the server from the client ?

any help would be good.

ps. The client is found but no access allowed.

Double Check the domain group "Domain Administrators" is part of the Local Security group on the PC.

It could also be a GPO overriding the user rights assignment, I had this recently when trying to access a PCs event log from my account which is in domain/enterprise admins

Also, be careful of WIndows Firewall too, if you haven't checked that.

You should be able to manage it with the firewall on, more likely to be the permissions issue.

A blocked firewall port would more likely cause a timeout sort of error, but its worth double checking

How do i go about doing this if it's not ?

Right click My Computer, click manage, select local users and groups, select groups, right click administrators and click properties, check domain admins is listed.

However, its highly unlikely its not, unless it has been overridden by a GPO, in which case you wont be able to change it anyway
