Access point at UNI

Hey, I have been having problems with setting up a way of connecting to the internet using WIFI in my student room using the internet we have on halls, i have tried using a router but this just does not seem to work because my internet requires me to log in using a student account. So i am wondering if i was to get this:

Would it work instead of a router as it will only be extending the connection from the access point and should allow me to find it that way?

If you cant use a router then it's likely it's just the usual unsecured campus wifi. If that's the case then the login screen is simply them redirecting your browser (not your hardware). Someone over at linskysinfo was trying to have their router log in for them (i.e. fill in the fields at set intervals, which should, in theory, work in tomato) but I don't remember if they ever finished it. Can't find it either.

Go down to the computer labs and ask there?
