Access point making a strange noise

Hi all,

Thought I'd post here as it seems to fit better as opposed to the networking section, plus it is busier

Has anyone ever had an access point that makes a noise? I bought a Netgear WAC120 a couple of months back and it has always been making a noise when transferring data, very similar to that of a hard disk drive spinning. Which is why I was so confused trying to find the noise, as nothing in that area of the room has a hard disk. It is maybe capacitor whine, but not quite the same as you'd hear from a gfx card, plus I'm not sure if APs even have capacitors installed.

Is it worth returning or will the new one also be like this? I've personally never had any other AP or router that makes a noise like this

Thanks! :)

EDIT: Set up a massive transfer on the phone and went over to listen to the AP, definitely a whining noise very much like capacitor whine when you're up close... will probably send this back.

most electronics make noise when you get real close to them. If you can hear it anywhere else than 1cm away from it... send it back.
