Access Point Recommendation

In our testing, at an accredited facility near Bedford, we saw roughly 35% loss of signal through a block wall, 40% through a brick wall and 15% through a wooden panel eg. A door.

This is then repeated for a second surface so after 2 brick walls you are looking at about 30% of the original signal and that’s a function of the higher frequency not penetrating so well and the fact that the amplitude of the signal is less to start with.

In an open space it’s excellent.

Decided to go for the WiFi 6 one (U6-PRO). Now just need an 8-port POE switch. Thanks for the advice, really appreciated.
Heads up you can run the AP in standalone mode with the app. No need to use a controller and should be more than enough for your use. Also means you can just go with any unmanaged PoE switch, I'm using a cheaper TP-Link for both my Unifi APs since I don't need the more advanced stuff.

been using a ubiquiti uap ac pro for many years and its good. these days id go with tplink omada stuff since it has its own web gui and doesnt need a separate controller . my unifi controller bricked itself after an update and its been nearly a year and i cant get into the access point to do updates etc but it still works so meh.

Is the 8-port TP-Link TL-SG1008P suitable for use with U6-PRO?

I went with U6-PRO and TL-SG1008P. I only have the U6-PRO plugged into one of the POE ports with no other devices plugged into the switch at the moment. When connected to POE ports 1,2 or 4, I only get internet speed of 9Mbps. I only get the full speed of 250mbps when connected to ports 3. I'm not sure what's going on but I suspect a faulty switch unless someone else can shed some light on it?

Yep sounds like it. For completness, have you tried another Ethernet cable?

Looks like that switch has lifetime warranty. Get it replaced.

Sounds like a bad switch to me. As already said - send it back for a new one.
