If I get BT Mobile I'll be given a username and password for accessing all the BT Wifi hotspots. Is it possible to have a android box or mini computer that will log in to the BT Wifi and convert it into my own wifi signal.

If you log into BT Wifi you have to put your details in via a webpage that comes up.

When we moved in I got a range extender to leech of the neighbours BT wifi. After setting it up I had to retype in my BT password quite often (every other day). So you would have to no doubt open browsers in android every now and then but I would think it would work.

Wouldn't this break BT's T&C's of usage doing this kind of thing?

Probably.

You could try OP, but expect BT to have things set up to prevent this kind of thing. For example they might check the TTL on every packet to see if it originates from the connected device or not. (Mobile phone networks do similar things to prevent people tethering.) In short, if you have to ask it's probably too difficult.

The tricky part is the web portal (means using a regular AP is off the cards) because you'd need to do some clever scripting to automate the "tick box" part. Then bridge the connection to a virtual/secondary wifi network.

I do a similar thing when in hotels that only give access to 1 device per login/room. I've got a pair of TP-Link TL-WR802N nano routers. One of them it set to be a wireless client that connects to the hotel wifi and then the other is a wireless router.

It works fine, I've been doing it for a couple of years. Captive portals work fine, I use any device connected to my wifi to login and then all other devices have access.
