I sold an item last month in Ebay and the buyer has contacted me that the item has not arrived yet. After checking the tracking # the courier has already attempted to deliver but since nobody was there to received it, they just left a card for the buyer to call them to arrange a redelivery.I just want to give this guy a full refund to finish this now but my problem is I'm out of the UK now so I dont know if it is ok to access my Paypal account from a different IP? Has anybody tried this before?

Ive accessed mine from many IP's. Especially when Im using mobile broadband. Why give up? Why isnt the buyer picking it up from the depot?

lol are you being serious?

off course its fine, you are not 'locked down' to be able to login from 1 ip only...!

I think he is the LAZY type.

Why do you need to give a refund because the person wasn't home to collect?

I really dont want him to cause any fuzz and the item is less than £15 anyway and the said buyer does not respond to my messsages that is sent directly to his emal address.I dont want to access my Ebay account from outside the UK cause of the silly protection that Ebay has implemented recently something about futher authentication of the account if you access it in other IP.

Tell the chump to go collect it :)
And do a screenie of the tracking page to send to PP when the guys starts a claim ;)

I really want to do this but since the buyer does not respond from messages sent outside of Ebay messaging.I may have trouble replying if he starts to cause a fuzz.

Paypal have locked my account at least twice when I accessed it from abroad.

They will of course unlock it once you get back and raise a fuss.

I really dont want this to happen as this will cause me a lot of inconvenience when I get back as I will have lots of stuff to dump on the bay. LOL.

All that will happen is you'll issue the refund and he'll have collected (or will collect) it. Why is he being so lazy? delivery has been attempted - he should be aware - it's out of your hands.

So you're going to issue a refund to someone because they can't be bothered to get off their lazy arse and go pick the item up?

Well, I for one am eagerly awaiting the inevitable "I got scammed on eBay" thread you'll no doubt be creating in the near future.

Don't refund them. You sent it, it's not your responsibility for them to collect the item. I had a similar occurrence over a year ago and even though I kept checking the tracking for a good few weeks afterwards it never seemed to have been delivered. *shrug*

It's not your problem.

I like your idea and I will do that thanks.

I contacted DHL to ask for a redelivery to the buyer last Monday and after checking the tracking info these DHL clowns have delivered it back to my place so I just issued a refund to the buyer.
