Accident Damage - Approximate Cost?

Some places will leave cars sat untouched for weeks before they have space to repair them or are awaiting insurance clearance or suchlike.

Generally once it's in the shop it's a production line approach to get it back out the door finished as soon as possible so they can get paid.

Loaded the thread, could only see first pic, thought hurm only needs a bumper and maybe numberplate, scrolled down and ow dear, sucks dude, at least you are ok :)

I did this too, saw the first pic and thought "ouch, but could be worse".

And then I scrolled down to see you'd basically decked one side of the car!

Still, I can't criticise, i've done some stupid things in the car. We live and learn eh? :o

If your car is leased you absolutely should get it repaired by a manufacturer bodyshop. If, at the end of the lease, they deem the work not up to scratch, but you have used their own bodyshop you should be fine. If you use another bodyshop and the leasing company don't agree with the standard of the work you'll be up **** creek!

I got a copy of the quote today, 32.5 hours of labour +12.2 for paint but it should come back as new judging by what they are doing.

It sits with the insurance company now, 48 hours for them to approve the repair apparently.

I think you've been generous if you think they'll work on it non-stop, too. Mine was 6 weeks and the damage was not as bad as that.

You said yours was years ago though, most of the bodyshops are quite quiet and work levels are nowhere near where they used to be. If you take it to a proper Mercedes shop insurance work normally takes priority over sales work so I'd be surprised if it took them two months unless the parts were difficult to source quickly.

The quote from the main dealer was approved, I'm running around in a 1.2 Corsa now. I will certainly appreciate it when I get it back, 78 bhp can be scarey.
