Accidental Damage claim

They will take it away because they will want to recoup as much as they can from it, plus it also shows its not fraud.

Anyone tried to change insurance companies when you have an on going claim, most don't want to know. This happened to us this year, they also increased the premium because of the claim even though they hadn't even paid us anything, in fact we had to pay £100 before any work could even be started.

Had a Wii remote through our Bravia. They took it away assessed it said it was too costly to repair so got us a new one (from 720p to 1080p!) with just the £25 excess to pay on our part. Did need to show proof of purchase though.

I got a call back from Direct Line yesterday asking for a few more details. Make, model number and what happened to the TV etc
Another call today from DVS to go over my version of events. Turns out they are happy enough to just send me a £500 voucher without having to even inspect the TV...quite surprised to be honest.
The guy mentioned it can be used at PC World or Currys, so once it arrives I'll be off to Currys
