Accidentally shifted to 2nd on the motorway

Anything likely to be damaged? Was going about 90-100ish.
Seems fine, won't make a habit of it.

I did something similar in my mx5 on my first visit at goodwood end of the straight, I was having a lack of skills moment, trying for 3rd from 5th, car said no, got 1st :o , car was fine, my nerves less so as I span off, used it for a couple of years after, winning a couple of championships before doing a rebuild, strip down showed nothing abnormal, I was pretty quick on the clutch the moment I realized, perhaps you did the same.

I think you'd already know about it if it did damage.

My crapness below :D

Mega, good job!

in my younger foolish days (i was 17) we used to have a 3rd gear challenge which was to see how fast you could get your car in 3rd gear. i managed a 90something (indicated) in 3rd gear.

this was a 1.6l (mid - late 80s - maybe C reg but it was a long time ago rover 216 ) the engine was screaming in 3rd gear, to do that in 2nd...... wouldnt your wheels lock up assuming you didnt knacker anything?

Depends how it's geared as well. If it has very short gears it might not hit 60 in 2nd even if it revs high. The GT86 is like that.
