Accounting Software

Can anyone recommend a good simple accounting package?

I'm currently using excel but wondered if there was anything else out there that would be better?

I downloaded Sage's Peachtree software but that was way ott for what I need.

Assuming it's for business use, Quickbooks.

VT Transactions is worth a shot.

Do NOT go for Sage unless you have a decent knowledge of bookkeeping or plan to go on a course to learn how to use it.
