I can get this for £800 Delivered, what do you guys reckon?

Well I just found it for £680 from an extremely quick search so look around!

The resolution seems tad odd for 16" screen, my girlfriend jsut bought a M1530 few weeks ago, even I like it and its a Dell! Looks nice, works perfectly and she hasnt had any problems. Managed to get a T8100, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD for £500 luckily so that was worth it!

I dont know much about portable GPU so cant comment on it really but 4GB RAM, T8100, 320GB HDD and blu ray reader seems alright for £680, but like I said, the GPU might be top of the line for all I know!

You could even go buy it at a large pc store as they pricematch the online retailer Im talking about so you wouldnt even have to wait for it to get delivered :)

You sure for £680 with the 8100 and bluray drive? The one listed lower have no bluray drive and a slower CPU.

The gpu is pretty decent, obviously not a crysis killer but should be okay for the odd game of fear etc. Would recommend looking for some reviews to get some input on real world battery life, niggles etc

Yea it seems the 9500 is 10% quicker than the 8600 also is cooler so that’s good, the laptop is aimed at entertainment hence the 16' HD display.

It's a 16:9 screen, reason why "funny resolution" so for movies ideal screen shape. I think a higher end acer of the same range has 1920x1080 res, so if you're watching a lot of blu-ray titles I'd go for that.

Yep that’s exactly it mate :D It is an ideal media machine, has some good audio stuff installed as well, Looks a cracker!

Audio out:Optimised 2nd Generation Dolby Home Theater® audio enhancement, featuring Dolby® Digital, Dolby® Digital Live, Dolby® Pro Logic® IIx, Dolby® Headphone, Dolby® Natural Bass and Dolby® Sound Space Expander technologies

By funny resolution I just meant low. Most laptops that are 15" these days are higher I thought and being 16" I expected atleast 1440

Laptop I was looking at was different spec my bad!

My 15.4" dell is outputting 1680 x 1050, and I'm sure they're doing even better from a 15.4" display now!! Not that it's needed in my opinion 1680 x 1050 is too small for me to read sometimes.

I had one of these 'funny' Acer laptops, well the cheapest 18" version. I can't remember the exact specs as I tried to get rid of it quickly, I didn't even get around to testing it on games, a few hours using Photoshop was enough.

T5700
4BG Ram
320gb (2x160gb HDDs?)
512mb GForce 9500
18" screen (1920x1080)

Hated the glossy screen.
The screen size was soo small when compared to my old 20" tft, just couldn't adapt to it.
I had to hold the bottom of the Blu Ray drive when inserting disks though fear of the tray mount snapping.
The glow from the power button was annoying - it actually goes all the way to the back of the laptop, you can just make it out on that photo.
The left side media 'thing' added more light and didn't get used once.
Uneven backlighting - from the bottom of the screen
The laptop came with lots of bloatware which I spent ages deleting.
Wasn't keen on Vista but I guess I'll have to get used to that for my next PC.
There! Hope I haven't put anyone off getting one :)
This was my first laptop, I guess they're just not for me.
