Hi, I have a question to those who might know the answer.

My sister has this note book (title) it has win 7 home edition and 2gig of ram.

Anyway what it is, when it's switched on and it has booted-up it takes forever before you can use it. I have checked the start-up menu and there seems to be next to nothing showing on it, but yet the usable ram drops right down to around 400 mb's or less. then after what seems to be a life-time the ram metre shows that there is around 1.4 gig of ram usable, and then It can be used without any issues. Does anyone have any idea what is running or causing this issue that is using all the ram after it's booted-up. And will putting 4gig of ram help with this?

download ccleaner and use the startup tool to see what loads with Windows. Also can you use this to springclean the hard drive.
Go into control panel / programs and features and see whats installed. If you dont know what to remove grab a screenshot and show it here.
Is there a load of Asus software ? I bet its come pre-installed with a load of bloatware.
Also consider buying a SSD for it once its been tidied.
