Acer Audio driver problem

Hi all
Have a problem with a ACER aspire 7720 laptop. The audio drivers that i have download from the acer web site are not working well, as when watching and listening to music it crackles and the built in sub just stops working.
Any ideas or could someone point me in the direction of some realtek audio drivers that work please would be great.

Current operating system is a windows vista 64 with service pack 2.
