Acer laptop with graphics problem

Yesterday my laptop developed a weird graphical glitch. On the bios screen it looks ok, but when the Windows loading screen comes up strange coloured hatching patterns appear. They seem to change when I manipulate the chassis which suggests some kind of connection or dry join. It is out of warranty. Any suggestions?

Drivers up to date?

The cross-hatch pattern is usually due to GPU overheating or the graphics memory dying.

Recently happened to my 9700Pro.

What GPU is it?

Its the laptop 9700 card with its own dedicated RAM. I'll try updating the drivers, but I doubt that'll help as the hatching starts in the Windows loading screen, and thats before it loads the driver isn't it?
