** ACER MAKE G-SYNC AFFORDABLE TO ALL!! **

Well plenty say they won't go back to 1080p after experiencing 1440p ;) For me both 1440p and 144Hz is the best option :p I agree though it's still an epic deal for what will be a great monitor

See I hear it differently... but I think it's due to the type of games you play. FPS and twitch games, 120Hz+ is awesome. MMOs, slower games where colours matter, than 1440p+ IPS is best

I play both, and I have both!

1080p BENQ 27"144Hz left, 1440p DELL 27" right

Just out of interest, what would the equivalent non-gsync monitor cost from acer? (or from another equivalent brand if this doesnt exist) My googlefu is failing me miserably and I can't find the equivalent acer monitor anywhere

The two equvelants are from Asus and benq, which boast the same feature set minus gsync. The Acer is £18 more then the Asus and £8 more then the benq...see post 8 :)

Might go for something like this if I decide to go the Nvidia route in my next gpu upgrade. Gsync and 144hz is a great combo, especially if the frame rate dips below the refresh rate.

Cheers for that, I must have skipped over your post thinking it was only about 4K monitors or something. £8-18 for g-sync is much more reasonable than the ridiculous amount of money the likes of asus are asking for

Very tempted by this. What is 1080p on a 27" like?

Also, in terms of people complaining of ocuk taking money out now, it suits me. It means I've paid for the monitor with this paycheck and don't get a nasty suprise come September, just a nice present instead :-D

Well you wouldn't want to be playing with the anti-aliasing turned down too much...

I have one of the original Asus 27inch 144hz monitors, where the colour is fantastic for a TN panel. Do the Acer screens match these I wonder? I also have a 1440p screen for non shooter games. I'm not sure I would notice g-sync much when over 100fps actually, and think it would be more useful on games that are stretching your gpus to the limit and with higher resolutions.

144hz certainly helps keep things smoother even when the framerate dips below 60fps. Not sure if worth the upgrade though.. will wait until I can afford a 1440p g-sync screen I think.
