Acer Predator X34A vs x34. Any difference?

I looked into it and the 34a is a revision, apparently they've ironed out some of the issues and it can now pivot vertically as well. I've ordered one myself and should hopefully get it by tomorrow and will be able to confirm this.

My X34A arrived at the weekend - built March 2016

I never used an X34 but I know they had issues with scan lines, backlight bleed, coil whine(!) and some didn't always overclock.

Gotta say, mine has none of these issues and doesn't even have any dead pixels. I'm really happy with it. Overclocked to 100hz with no issues, no noise coming from it, looks fantastic.

It does also pivot left and right and the original X34 did not do this.

Unfortunately it's looking like issues are still present with some units. Im actually considering paying the extra for the Asus model, but from what I hear they have issues as well. Fingers crossed mine won't have any issues I can't live with, if it does its going back.

My Acer X34A comes tomorrow. Very much looking forward to playing with it even though I'm still waiting for my GTX 1080 to arrive. My mobo is a Z170 Skylake 6700k with a display port. So while I can't game on it desktop should be ok for a week or so until my 1080 comes in.

Cheers for the info guys:)

One game I've played a lot of since Saturday is Arkham Knight.

The game gets a lot of flack for being a shoddy port, but it looks glorious in 21:9 - Flying around Arkham City

And because I have SLI (which the game doesn't support) I instead dedicate one card to Physx, have all the Physx effects on and set the highest graphics settings. In game menu lets you limit FPS to 30/60/90 or 120. I limited it to 90 and it runs between 90fps, averages about 70fps and very occasionally drops to the mid 40's with lots of Physx stuff happening.

And G-sync smooths out all the fluctuations :D

I briefly tried Witcher 3 and GTA V and they both looked incredible as well :)

It has little indents to let you know when everything is lined up, I appreciate little details like that.

Stand comes pre-attached as well which is good.

By the way, the box is HUGE.

I've ordered mine with gtx 1080 Skylake system. Think it's going to be a little bit of a step up from my Aorus X7 lol. Can't wait to see what Witcher 3 and Warhammer total war look like on it :-D

Only difference is the base.

Same panel with a slightly revised base.

Personally I don't even use the base, it's much better on a arm.

Yes the stand pivots now. Minor tweaks to the monitor software. Over clocks with less issue now. Also Acer trying it's best for 0 coil whine before shipping from factory on X34A. Read it on reddit

Only one word describes this monitor, Beautiful!

No dead pixels, Very little lightbleed. Overclocked to 100hz no coil whine quiet as a mouse. Now just need my EVGA FTW 1080 and I'm set

Hail Ultra-wide! :D
