I'm seriously considering the laptop below for uni as it ticks all the main boxes for me. Outstanding battery life (8 to 9 hours), decent screen, thin and lightweight, discrete graphics and it has an understated elegance I believe. Its only flaw is its low powered 1.4GHz Intel C2D SU9400 CPU, but thats what gives it is long battery life obviously and I'm not interested in gaming on it. Cost is £850 which is obviously a lot for an Acer but I have a feeling it might just be worth it.
Its only serious rival for me is a Macbook Pro 13" which I can pick up for £770 with student discount.
