Sounds like it will be virtually identical to the Swift in all but external looks. Will be interesting to see what price it comes in at (I'm going to predict a fair chunk cheaper), and to see if it has any of the technical issues some fellow swift owners are getting.

Either way, more competition is good, but much as I'm mightily impressed with the TN panel in my Swift, someone hurry up and release an IPS or VA panel with all the same specs, and superwide! Pleeeeeease....

Obviously good to have competition but even if it does undercut the Swift i would imagine it'll still be a £500+ monitor which is still far more than i can afford :(
 
Acer tell me it's expected Q1. i should be getting a review sample very soon so a review will be forthcoming before release :)

So when they say expected to be released in the UK in the next few days this is just an official press release? No actual monitor till next year?

The next few days was the info we had yesterday. We broke the news first at TFTCentral. There was a mix up though and the H model is being released in the next few days, the HU is not til Q1

Update 20/11/14 - apologies, there has been a bit of confusion with Acer around the release date. It is their XB270H model which is being released within the next few days. That is a 1920 x 1080 res model with 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms G2G response time. A G-sync version of the same is also expected which will be the XB270HA. The model talked about in this article, is the XB270HU which is scheduled for release in Q1 and has 2560 x 1440 res, 144Hz and G-sync. We are expecting a sample to review before then though so we will keep you posted on Twitter.

Look forward to the review of this. Sounds ideal as a replacement for my rather old monitor in sig.
 
Ah, good to see some competition at last, hopefully that and the upcoming freesync monitors will help drive some prices down for us :)
 
If this comes in at £500 the Swift will probably come down in price, maybe even to £550 which means they will both be competing, good for anyone interested and good for me as I want to see a 144hz 4k monitor sooner rather than later.
