ACHI mode

Hi there

im about to install windows on a drive and want to try the achi mode
to enable ncq etc

ive got another drive whichh was used as a normal sata mode (infact sata as ide in bios)

now with the main the drive being in achi mode, will i be able to access the
second drive as normal in windows or do i have to format it before i can use
that in achi mode too? (ive got valuable data on there

)

if your using the same SATA chipset then yes you will have to format it definately

hmm just given it a try, installed ACHI sata drivers on the main OS drive (installed windows)
plugged in the 2nd drive in the same sata chipset and it works all fine (all data is accessible) :eek:
