Acid attacks

In my day we had acid and it was much more fun. Kids today, they just have no idea!

Find them and deal with them hard. Scum like this has no right of place on our streets in my book. Remove them, whatever it takes.

Why have people moved on from knives to acid? I don't get it.

A news broadcast mentioned that an acid attack is less personal and can be carried out from a distance; when compared to a knife attack. The broadcast also mentioned that the reduced number of stop and searches have resulted in the increase of attacks. I personally feel it should be a an automatic life sentence, the results are truly devastating. If you are caught carrying drain cleaner/acid without a valid and evidenced reason - automatic 5 years. The hoodies/balaclava individuals who ride about London (they are almost inevitably known) you can spot them a mile off.

I'm a firm believer in an eye for an eye. These kids need to be taught a lesson. Disgusting. These people being attacked have to live with the damage for life.

Drop them off a bridge with some rope and see if he loses his head or not, I don't care if he's 14 and neither does the victim that will probably lose his sight.

Two eyes for an eye, who cares about an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind rubbish.

The acid isn't the main part of this problem (although I think sales should be limited in some way if that isn't already the case) - it's the attackers' willingness to maim others. If acid was unobtainable these people would have used something else. The government have released a knee-jerk, mostly dumb-as-flip consultation about all of this and bundled knives, swords and acid together.

Sadly for me, they include antique weapons in it - because, you know, scumbags are well-known for buying £700 antique swords to rob iPhones with.

Londoners must get used to this and welcome it. In fact the BBC is already doing this with its article on how to put make up on afterwards. This may be of assistance to this person (I'm not assuming the individuals gender)

I do think part of this is down to reduced police nunbers. Kids know they can get away with loads of stuff now because there are less police about.

When I was a teenager in the 90's I wouldn't dream of shoplifting. My nephew wanted eggs on Halloween and ASDA wouldn't sell them to him, so him and some friends put on some masks, stormed in there, nicked the eggs and ran out.

Police response times to the town are at least 20 minutes since they closed the local station.

Police don't really prosecute shoplifters either now, they just get banned from stores by the store security.

If you haven't got a high flying career in the city then just get out.

There is absolutely no reason to live and work in these crime infested dumps if you are an ordinary blue collar worker. The cost of living in a city is far too high.

Perhaps when the city slickers can't find anyone to wipe their behinds for them then something might finally get done to clean the streets of the vermin that resides in them.

You need to take a hard line with these creatures. Snatch squads should be deployed to disappear them.

I can't remember the name of the study but I remember the summary of it was if police let smaller crimes like graffiti and smashing windows slide it snowballs as potential criminals are encouraged to turn it up a notch. Clamp down hard and early on the misdemeanors and more serious crime is less likely to occur.

This is absolutely sickening, what the hell is wrong with people these days. All to steal a moped :(
I do not have an answer. In my day mugging was a chip to the chin and you either handed over your wallet or fought back with the net effect being a few bruises and that was that. The increase in knife crime astounded me. Personally the very thought of inserting an object into someone’s body makes me feel quite queasy (now now).

Now the method is throwing a substance which can be absurdly life changing. I cannot fathom the mentality behind this or how it has surfaced. Something is very wrong with our society, specifically with our younger generations which embark on these activities without seemingly a care in the world as to the effects they have upon their victims.

Utterly incomprehensible.
