Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers arrive @ OcUK

Random question but can someone possibly take a photo of the back of the subwoofer.
No problem if not, feel free to mock me for such a silly request ! :P

I tried the Aego 2s before and they were good, ended up just hooking my Denon amp and JBL monitor speakers up though, sounds quite a bit better, as expected. For under £100 though these are a steal.

just got a set today. all seems fine so far. they are very loud. satellites have a lot of treble. don't think i'm used to the clarity yet. the speakers these replaced were v old so... the subs rivalling my antec for size :p

The sats look like they're just 1-way, so I wonder how good the highs are on those. I think Klipsch (or some of their sets anyway) do at least have 2 way sats. I would also consider something like Roland DM10 monitors if I were looking for a stereo set right now, they're like mini hi-fi bookshelfs with the amp built in, plus they're digital.

Depends really whether you're into accurate sound for music or big booming bass for games/movies. Personally I think real hi-fi gear is just too big for putting round a PC.

Is that not a unshielded Sub? you might want to move it away from your tower a bit!!!

Most HD are pretty resistent to magnets, even one in a sub. I think it was older (like 5yrs ago) HD's that used to have that problem.

Hey those Roland DM10 could be what I'm looking for. Personally I'm not into booming bass. They don't have to be right beside the PC to be useful.

i agree. i wanted to reclaim some desk space and these do the job nicely.

i had my previous sub beside the tower for years and never had any probs. i've moved this one to the right of the desk now just to be sure.

I was considering getting an amp and speakers (NADC320BEE and Warf 9s) but after reading glowing reviews of these speakers I'm just wondering which option to go for!

anyone got any opnions?

Got the older version of these and they're stunning. The build quality is excellent and they sound well balanced without having to adjust equalizer settings. I'd recommend them to anyone.

they are super loud with plenty of bass. satellites are compact however the sub is pretty hefty. If you intend to use the amp/speakers along with a cd player for music etc then go for it. If you use the PC for all your media and have a decent sound card then these are the ticket!
