Acoustic guitar artists

Thread about your favourite musical artists who primarily play acoustic guitar, or have some tracks that are just acoustic & singing.

Mine atm are:

Jack Johnson
Old Radiohead (Fake plastic trees etc)
Old Oasis (wonderwall)
David Bowie

Although recently I've found these artists called Donovan Frankenwreiter and Martin Sexton, both upon recommendations that they're good

Let's hear what you all think, or particular acoustic tracks you like, although I know there's a thread about that already.
 
Damien Rice, Amos Lee, José Gonzalez spring to mind!

I really like Gonzalez, most of his songs are just acoustic. He doubles up the vocals too which takes a while to get used to, but I love the sound :)
 
You seem to be edging towards more singer songwriter acoustic guitarists. In which case mine would probably be Cat Stevens, Chris Cornell and Jamie Bowering are a few.

Personally, I'm into a lot more 'virtuoso' style acoustic guitarists. Such as Tommy Emmanuel, Martin Taylor, Chet Atkins, Andy McKee, Justin King, again, to name a few.
 
Jen Wood has released some rather awesome stuff over the years, though her material is very hard to come by.

Ani DiFranco is equally awesome too.

I do like Nick Drake, but he's very difficult to listen to. His songs just get me down so much (and not in the partying sense!)

Elliot Smith seems pretty cool, but what I've heard I thought was very similar to Bright Eyes, who I don't really like either
 
I'm not really into acoustic stuff but obviously Tommy Emmanuel comes highly recommended and I can listen to neil Youngs acoustic stuff.

Nick Drake isn't depressing, he's relaxing!

And Elliott Smith is much better than Bright Eyes. Much better guitar player, better singer and better songwriter.

Nah man. Hes nothing like Bright Eyes. Figure 8 and XO both have a very Beatles vibe.
 
I only listened to 1 album - he's on my to-listen list. what I heard reminded me of bright eyes.

I don't know what it is about Nick Drake - I think I associate too much of his life with his music, and his terribly depressing life gets me down when I hear his songs.
