Acronis Question

Hi there

Simple noob question regarding this Acronis. I have made an image file of my whole system and it has placed it on my 2nd HD. Now my question is how exactly do I use this? If for some reason my 1st HD became corrupted would I simply copy the whole image over to that drive? What if I had a 3rd HD that was blank with no O/S on it, can I just copy & paste the image onto that drive?

What I am asking is how you actually backup the HD and then use the image when needed. What if I have 2 HD's and only one has an O/S on it then that becomes corrupted and I can't even boot from it. Is there a way to take the image of this primary HD from the 2nd HD where it is saved which has no operating system on it and boot from the backup? I've just confused myself lol.

Firstly, open up Acronis True Image, and make a boot CD, which you can then use to run the program from in DOS, which really is much better than having no boot cd, and your C:\ part becomes corrupted, and you have no way of starting ATI, to use the backup image you have on another HDD.

What you would do is run the boot cd, and then run the Restore Wizard, which will let you find the backup image on another HDD, which you simply place on your C:\ part, which will have you back up and running in no time.
