How does this program take an "image" of the OS if it is not OS indipendent without all off the expected problems you could run into?

Is it possible to create and restore backups independent of the OS?

Thanks for reading, any replies are greatly appreciated!

what do you mean?

you can run this program from within windows or from the acronis bootcd

i use the latter, saves installing the program

Yes, although if you install it you can schedule automated system images.

How does the program make the image successfully withing the OS. Such as the windows system files, surley there would be problems trying to access these to image the system?

Nope, works fine. It's not changing anything so must be allowed access.

i've made images that have worked perfectly fine even when i've been playing red alert 2 on the pc, never had a failed image (from about 100)
