Hi all,
Just started using acronis true image, I have taken a couple of backups, which come down as .tib files I believe. I have seen that you can do a recovery through the programme itself but its it possible to create a bootable cd with the image on it?
Thanks
mark

Yes it's possible, if you are using ATI 10 then open True Image and look at the list on the left side, you will see the option Create Bootable Rescue Media, click this option and follow the instructions.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that, I did look at it briefly but it seemed to be asking me to create a bootable copy of acronis itself.

I didn't seem to have read your first post correctly, if what you want to do is create a backup image on DVD/CD that is also bootable then you will find this option as follows, open true image and click on the Tools tab at the top and select Options, on the left side of the window that appears click on the plus sign next to Default backup options, now select Media components and you should find all the options you need, you will also find these options when you are manually creating a DVD/CD based backup.

I prefer to create the backup image on an internal or external HDD and use the stand alone bootable rescue media because it's a lot faster and a lot more reliable, also it takes an age to create and varify the image when using DVD/CD's.

Hope this helps!

yeah that really helps, thanks for that. I have taken images of all the machines I have to 'look after' in my family so instead of having to reinstall every time they break them I can just reimage them.
cheers
