Is it possible to have a transparent background of the text under icons whilst having active desktop turned on? As soon as I enable it, the text loses it's drop-shadow and the background becomes a solid colour.

isnt this control panel/system/advanced/visual effects and make sure "use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" is ticked to fix?

Not sure if this will solve it having never used Active Desktop...

Try Right clicking on desktop, mouse over 'Arrange Icons by' then select 'Lock Desktop Icons'

Neither of those solutions work, I'm trying to display gamercards on my desktop using Active Desktop but it always disables transparency, maybe a reghack is required?
