Anyone using activesync in full push 24/7?

My setup - office365 email using a sammy gs2 running 2.3.5 - battery goes from 100% to 5% in 9 hours with push turned on :(

Is it just me or is activesync a battery whore?! Gmail sync turned off too btw :)

I use it on a 8am-7pm basis, full push etc... on a few handsets. It's not exactly fantastic with battery but the SGS2 is far from the worst with it on honestly. You check your battery meter to make sure it's not a poorly written app etc..?

To warn you, it's no better on wp7 but I still doubt exchange is really killing your phone unless you live in a low signal area and you're constantly on 1-2 bars (radio will use more battery in this scenario). Push is not great but not bad - it opens up a persistent connection with a huge timeout, that's all it really is. Bigger things that eat battery tend to be things like face book sync (widgets especially that include pics) and the screen.

If you honestly want the best mail device it's still a BB with BES on the backend. The 9900 is bbOS done right.
