Activision gets ANOTHER studio working on COD!

Neversoft are apparently working on Call Of Duty according to this.
Ace idea! Because getting Sledgehammer,IW and Raven working on MW3 worked so well :rolleyes:
Pretty soon all Activision will be making will be COD games.
 
I really don't understand why people keep buying cod games every year they are all the same, it's becoming the FIFA of the fps genre.
 
Most likely they are pulling in extra support to get the game finished. They work to a tight deadline and release date, it's not like they are going to push the date they have chosen back. In the past the Developer would probably have just been allowed to let the launch slip back, but since it's so important, Activision will just throw money at it to get it finished in time. It's very similar to how things work in the film industry.

I think it would be silly to think that Black Ops 2 won't be one of the biggest, if not THE biggest selling game of the year. I think people certainly realise its getting a little stale now and MW3 was a let down in a number of ways. I'll still buy it, even though I'm not some COD Kiddie who will play it for months. Black Ops turned out to be one of the better COD titles, so it will be good to see how they follow it up.
 
Activision wants yearly releases, fans want a quality game. This satisfys both parties. Can't see a problem.
 
Sadly as long as people buy it they will just keep churning it out, I quite enjoyed the last 2 but nothing as the same level as MW2 which I was hooked on.

Which is why You cant really blame them for making more stale cod games.

No of course not, just sad that because they know they can get away with it they will persist with making rehashes of the same game model.

What I find really annoying is the whole map pack saga, if they know the total amount they are going to ship out why do they withhold and sell some as map packs?! Shouldn't really be allowed to do that!

It won't be a Vita game as Black Ops Declassified was announced at E3 for the Vita and the COD game these guys have been leaked to be developing isnt confirmed or announced as of yet with its title or platform.

I suspect it'll be a next gen COD game as Black Ops 2 is out thise year and next year the new consoels will be arriving however I am unsure of what credentials these guys have for FPS games. They can do Skate games well (when I say well I mean the earlier ones lol) and guitar games well (copy and paste comment here) but FPS? Its an odd choice to go with these devs.

Saying that though I bet anyone can make a COD game when they give you the same year in year out used engine and a manual although I did read that finally there is a new engine in the works for next years COD but once again most likely the next gen game and that one will be handled by a more experienced team like IW/Sledghammer so its a bizarre leak

Unless they are just helping with a section of the game where the commando team are skate boarding through a ravished, desolate Russian occupied New York hammering out rock tunes to gain a 50x multiplier before ........ you get the picture :)
