Ad blocked for Android

Anyone got any suggestions? Fed up with twitter ads and other ads, just want to be able to block them all. Using a P30 Pro phone.

Are they all paid for or any good free ones?

Assuming the P30 Pro's Android version is new enough for private DNS, you can set it to Adguard's (method 2, Android): https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html

Alternatively method 1 will install the Adguard app and does offer more options such as app whitelisting, but it does this via a local VPN.

Just bare in mind this is basic DNS filtering so it may not work for all apps.

For browser, if you use Firefox you can install uBlock Origin. Some other mobile browsers will have inbuilt adblockers too but I found uBo to do the best.

Edit: If you ever used ReVanced manager before, it's not just limited to YouTube...

Blokada - Uses blocklists that blackhole via a VPN, so can block ads within apps as well as browsers. Version 5 is the free version, otherwise the latest (version 6) can be purchased from the Play store.

I have my dns set to adguard, does a surprisingly good job with removing ads from everything without downloading apps or running anything on the phone.

It even skips fullscreen unskippable ads from apps that have them.

It's free to use. Private DNS works on both WiFi and mobile. If your phone doesn't support private DNS I did share other methods on post #2.

I'd hope most android users have private dns. I wasn't sure and googled it, it requires 9.

No because they aren't ads like your thinking, they're from the same source as the material you want to view.

Don't have many apps on my phone because of all the ads.

Set up Private DNS same as you and no ads now.

Did not even know i had this on my phone.

The annoying thing is I have it installed on my youngests, android (family link) stops me from updating it.
