I'm looking for an adapater to turn a large PCI-E 4.0 4x slot into PCIe 4.0 x4 nVME M.2 slot, so i can add a PCI.E Gen 4 drive to my PC. I can find example for PCIE 3 but not 4, for example:

There are more simple offerings than that, which just do a single NVME drive too. Does anyone know if they exist? My mobo only has Gen 3 M.2 slots remaining but does have a spare large PCI-E 4.0 4x slot.

Thanks

It doesn't need to be physically 16, you can plug a card that is physically 4 (which most of the adapters are) into a 16 slot. Not all boards like all adapters though.

Ohhh really?! Very interesting! Thanks for that. I only need the one nvme and that's a lot cheaper than the full size

Yup :) The full-size ones might not even work properly (or at the very least, they'll disable most of the slots), because they usually require 8+ lanes and bifurcation support in the BIOS.
