Hi, recently jumped back onto IOS from Android with an iPhone 6.

I have downlaoded all of my Google photo's which were taken on my various Android phones, and I would like to add these to my 'iCloud' or photostream. Sorry, I'm unsure of the correct term, or correct way to do it.

Items at my disposal:
rMBP
iPad Air
Windows 7 laptop
Windows 8.1 PC
And my iPhone obviously!

Is it just a case of installing iCloud for PC (which I'm on now, works laptop) and then add photo's using the app?

Okay, so I downloaded iPhoto, imported the photo's into there and then I sync'd iPhoto to my phone through iTunes. It's not finished yet however I think that's it all done. ::cool:

Bit late now but I just tick the box in iTunes to add photo's making sure it looks in 'my pictures' on win7. It adds all the albums in there making browsing them easy.

Not wanting to start a new thread but how could I insert photos taken on another phone into my camera roll? Kind of annoying having to keep them in a separate folder. Would just slapping them into the relevant folder work or would they just get synced off again?

Add the photo's into iPhoto on the mac and select to sync iPhoto onto the phone in iTunes.

Or for windows - just add the images into the 'my pictures' folder and tick the relevant box for that in iTunes instead.

It doesn't appear to have kept the locations that the Google photo's were taken in, can this be transferred to the iPhone?

This is embarrassing but where do photos from the iPhone go on my mac? Do I need iPhoto? How do I not know this?

You can connect the iPhone to your Mac and use Image Capture to copy all the images into a location of your choosing.

If you can physically select the images, just manually drop them into the folder that iTunes is syncing with the phone.

So by default, you have to manually move them? Rather counter-intuitive as iTunes insists on handling everything else but fair do's. I'm assuming you can't copy things into there to put them into the Camera Roll on the phone?

iirc all images you take now are stored on iCloud and can be accessed via iPhoto on the mac once they are uploaded - unless you have it set not to do so.
