Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Should be very simple. I've plugged in a new SATA drive (Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80Gb) and it is recognised on the POST/BIOS screens. When I get to Windows XP, however, there is no sign of it on My Computer or in Computer Management.

I am already running XP off my 7200.7 120Gb primary drive. My iimpression was that I just had to plug in the new one and I'd be up and running with extra storage.

Any ideas?

go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

you'll be able to initialise your new hdd and format it. Then you'll be able to use it for extra storage.
