Dear Overclockers, I seem to have an issue,
I received this new 2TB WD Hard drive just now.
I got two DVD drives both connected via separate SATA cables to the motherboard.
Didn't have an extra SATA cable, so unplugged one of the DVD drives' SATA cables and plugged it to the new Hard drive.
Connected the L-shaped SATA power from PSU to it as well.
...and it my computer doesn't switch on. It's dead. I thought maybe I didn't have enough power for two hard drives so took the new hard drive out and (as far as I can think) I put the set up back to its original. No success.
Any idea what I've done wrong? It's getting dark here now so I don't even want to look at the mess inside my case.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Is there any way to turn on the computer without actually pushing the ON/OFF button outside the case? I may have damaged the power button (very very unlikely but that's all I can think of)
Update#1: I had an external USB hard drive connected to my computer, and it seems like current goes inside my motherboard because when I turn the PSU on (from back of the case), the external hard drive initializes. Could the PSU still be faulty?
Question#1: Does the computer switch on if there are no memory units or hard drive connected to the motherboard?
